United Way of Central Indiana Names Gina Davis Senior Director of Family Opportunity Fund

INDIANAPOLIS – United Way of Central Indiana today announced that Gina Davis will join the organization’s Impact team as Senior Director of the Family Opportunity Fund.
Davis will lead the team responsible for the Family Opportunity Fund’s strategic direction and implementation. Unveiled last spring as one of three impact initiatives of United Way, the Family Opportunity Fund helps families reach their full potential through programs that use the Two-Generation Approach (2Gen). This promising practice builds family well-being by intentionally and simultaneously working with children and the adults in their lives together.
United Way’s Chief Impact Officer Sara VanSlambrook believes Davis will be key to the success of the fund’s impact on families across Central Indiana.
“In this year alone, we’ve distributed more than $8 million in impact funding, with $3 million of that supporting 2Gen programs and services through the Family Opportunity Fund,” said Chief Impact Officer Sara VanSlambrook. “Gina has the vision, experience, and passion to drive the measurement and success of this work to great lengths. We’re thrilled to incorporate her talent into a robust Community Impact team here at United Way.”
Davis formerly served as senior program officer for the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) as well as in various higher education leadership and teaching roles at Butler University and IUPUI. She brings deep and diverse experience as a consultant in community development, designing and sustaining innovative initiatives focused on elevating the human, social, and economic value of persons, households, and neighborhoods challenged by conditions of poverty.
“This role allows me to serve Central Indiana families in a capacity like never before,” said Davis. “I look forward to working with a team that has already proven what can happen when we come together to support those who envision better lives for themselves and their communities across our six-county region.”
The first round of Family Opportunity Fund recipients was announced last October. The second round is underway with announcements scheduled for February 2020. For more information, visit our website.
